A Life-Changing Experience
Ānanda Yoga from the Heart – 200 hrs Yoga Teacher Training in India: Full Ashram Immersion
This is an invitation to a journey into the foundations and essence of yoga, where tradition lives and breathes.
The Vallalar Mission Ashram will be hosting the program. Founded by Guruji Sri Babu Sadhu, the Ashram is committed to fostering and preserving the teachings of Swami Ramalinga Vallalar in Thiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, India.
This training will be guided by Ānanda Yoga from the Heart School that has been training yoga teachers in Hatha & Vinyasa Yoga tradition for over eighteen years in the Riviera Maya, Mexico.
This program is designed for sincere aspirants from around the world who possess the commitment and discipline required for an authentic and immersive yoga journey in the sacred birthplace of yoga.
Through our shared commitment to honoring the complex frameworks of yoga that include meditation, asana, pranayama, mantra, mudra, philosophy, kirtan, satsang and karma yoga, we are partnering to deliver a profound opportunity to learnthrough direct experience of a living tradition.
We are designing this Yoga Teacher Training for those whose hearts are ready to discover an authentic and profound practice of yoga for themselves.. Over the course of four weeks, participants will be , fully immersed in an ashram that rarely opens its doors to foreign visitors. Here, every teaching is received from within its original and living context.
More than a training, it is an experience that will stay with us for a lifetime.
Spending a month living in an ashram can be a true turning point — far beyond simply learning how to teach a complete and inclusive yoga class. This journey is deeply transformative, taking us beyond what we can imagine.
It is a living experience where we discover contentment, simplicity, humility, the joy of serving others, and the beauty of living in harmony, cooperation, and sangha.
One can only share what one has truly experienced. Come and live the real essence of yoga—so that you may one day offer Yoga from the Heart.
This experience is for those who feel a deep inner calling to reach the very heart of yoga and who are prepared to offer the discipline, humility, and sincerity required for true transformation.
We believe that the most successful yoga teachers are those who have a deep personal connection to the core practices of traditional yoga. We want to support students in creating their own foundational understandings and experiences from which to share grounded practices with others as Yoga from the Heart!

Areas of Yogic Study
We will explore the foundational tools of yoga as a path of transformation—from the body to the breath, from sound to subtle energy, including:
Asana
Dive deep into each posture and its subtle dimensions. Learn to feel, adjust, and teach from the roots of conscious movement.
Pranayama
Awaken the power of your breath. Study ancient techniques to calm the mind, energize the body, and expand awareness.
Mantra
Use sacred sound to align your inner and outer being. Discover the transformative vibration of mantra as a path of focus, devotion, and silence.
Mudra
Harness the subtle intelligence of the hands. Mudras are energetic seals that support meditation, balance the nervous system, and deepen internal focus.
Yantra
Enter the world of sacred geometry. Yantras are visual meditative tools that connect the practitioner to higher states of consciousness.
Foundations of Wisdom
Deepen your understanding of yoga as a sacred science of the human being by entering the Vedic roots of its philosophy and history. — We will expand on the subtle.
- Philosophy and Inner Work. Learn about foundational texts and teachings that elaborate on complex elements of yoga as a path of liberation. Engage with the wisdom within the deeper life lessons of the Yoga Sutra, guided by direct experience rather than abstract theory.
- History. A careful consideration of the roots of yoga — where philosophy, tradition, and devotion intersect . By understanding its origin and evolution, we begin to see yoga not just as a practice, but as a living lineage. To know where it comes from is to connect with its depth — and to carry it forward with purpose and authenticity.
- Physiological & Subtle Anatomy. Explore both the visible body and the metaphysical or subtle body. We’ll study the physical systems — muscular, respiratory, nervous — and the subtle layers of prana, chakras, and nadis to build a holistic vision that weaves together science and energy. This integrated approach will deepen your understanding of how the body moves, feels, and transforms — both on and off the mat.
- Self-Inquiry and Inner Reflection. Explore the inner landscape through practices of self-observation, contemplation, and conscious presence. This is the heart of the transformational journey.
- Satsang. Through guided group inquiry, shared silence, and spiritual dialogue, discover insights that arise from collective wisdom and deep listening. These sessions are led by Sadhu Janagiraman and Sadhu Nagaraj whose presence embodies the very essence of the teachings.
A profoundly powerful experience
Beyond the intensive training, you will live and breathe yoga in its purest essence — through traditional practices and full immersion in Ashram life.
The Art of Teaching
Teaching is a sacred offering. Learn to share yoga with clarity, authenticity, and presence — rooted in your own experience.
How to structure and deliver a class that honors both tradition and the needs of your students. From sequencing and verbal cues to energetic presence, you’ll develop the skills to share yoga responsibly — to hold space, offer intelligent sequencing, adapt to different bodies, and teach from your own embodied truth. Because teaching yoga is not about performance — it’s about transmission.
- Teaching Methodology:
Learn the art of guiding with presence, clarity, and heart.
- Hands-On Adjustments:
Understand the art of touch. Learn safe, respectful, and conscious adjustments that support alignment, embodiment, and transformation.
- Ethics and the Role of the Teacher
Reflect on what it means to hold space and serve through yoga. Explore themes of humility, responsibility, and integrity on and off the mat.
- Teaching Practices
Real teaching. Heartfelt feedback. Shared growth. Your voice as a teacher begins here.
